Broward Dermatology Residency Program Highlights

The Broward Dermatology Residency Program is a three-year training program offering residents a well-rounded educational experience and is designed to prepare residents with the tools to provide quality patient care to all patient populations with various dermatologic conditions. The program is designed in such a way that it adequately trains and prepares dermatology residents to become board certified and meets all requirements set forth by the American Board of Dermatology.  Additionally, the program ensures that the core competencies set forth by the ACGME/AOA are built into each rotation and that residents are evaluated accordingly on their medical knowledge, patient care skills, communication skills, professionalism, practice-based learning, and systems-based practice.  

Dermatologic Pathology

A robust inpatient dermatology consultation service with exposure to a wealth of pathology and complicated dermatologic cases.


Monthly immunodermatology clinic supervised by acclaimed dermatologist, Dr. Carlos Nousari, where residents encounter and manage challenging immunobullous, connective tissue, and vasculitic diseases.

Strong Academics

A comprehensive academic atmosphere including weekly didactics and dermatopathology lectures, biweekly dermatology Grand Rounds, as well as monthly dermatologic surgery seminars and journal club meetings.

Clinical Sites

A well-rounded clinical experience with rotations in a county hospital system and private dermatology practices, as well as outside rotations within Cleveland Clinic and the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.

Continuity Clinic

Weekly resident continuity clinics, based within BHMC, providing dermatologic evaluation and management to the local community and indigent patients

Accredited Program

The program has received initial accreditation through the ACGME with zero citations and is also accredited through the AOA
